Philosophies
We believe that what we do – design and manufacture quality high-end home theater interiors – is very important. Properly executed, a “real” home theater provides a catalyst for a family to spend more quality time together, and act as a magnet to encourage children and grandchildren to spend more time with their friends and their family – AT-Home. So instead of being in just the “home theater” business, we decided to make it a bit more personal and more important – we wanted to be in the “@Home Theater” business.
Similarly, our business philosophies are also very important to us, because they remind us who we are and why we even exist in the first place.
These are the core principles of our company:
1. Delight Our Customers
2. Deliver Substantial Value
3. Be Excellent In Everything
4. True Success Requires Integrity
Delight Our Customers
@Home Theater Rooms has essentially two types of customers: homeowners who invest in our products, and the dealers who present, sell, and install our products. We believe we must make both customer groups more than just “satisfied” or happy – they must be ecstatic that they are dealing with our firm. We strive to create exceptionally loyal customers by providing a superior overall experience which encompasses every interaction from start to finish.
Deliver Substantial Value
While our goal is to deliver very high quality finished products, they must also be priced such that they represent a good value to our customers. For example, in order to keep our variable costs down we utilize computer numerical control (CNC) equipment as well as some proprietary mitering equipment and tooling in our product manufacturing. We are continuously striving to make our products better without introducing additional costs to our customers.
Be Excellent In Everything
“Good enough” is never good enough, but excellent always is. Excellent companies prosper in the end because of their excellent people. Our commitment will always be to go beyond what the rest of the industry considers to be acceptable.
True Success Requires Integrity
Like all humans, we are imperfect by nature, and we will eventually make some mistakes. What we won’t do however is lie, mislead, or intentionally withhold information from our suppliers, our customers, or each other. We believe success without integrity is essentially meaningless, and we are committed to acting the “right” way at all times.
Manufacturing
@Home Theater Rooms' corporate headquarters is based in Columbia, Maryland, USA which is located between Baltimrore and Washington, DC. Our manufacturing is located in Southern New Jersey. This is an ideal location which is within 250 miles of 40% of the US population (and 500 miles of 50%) with excellent and low cost shipping lanes.
We build your theater in a clean, modern, fully equipped custom woodworking facility. Our moldings are custom designed and exclusive to our products. They are formed for their specific purpose in our overall designs. Columns and soffits are precision cut on CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting machines which are the state of the art to ensure constistency and quality.
Our entire manufacturing staff are all educated and capable mechanics. There are no "filler" employees, no low-wage or part-time hourly staff without experience. With our efficiency in manufacturing and our well researched designs, your theater interior will be better quality and much lower cost than any other option on the market.
Finishing and all other aspects of construction are all in-house. We can maintain quality control and offer six distinct designer selected finishes to completment any decor or taste.
Our Team
One of our Principles is to Be Excellent In All Areas, and the only way you can build an excellent company is with excellent people. Here is a quick introduction to some of our key team members:
Stuart is the Founder and President of @Home Theater Rooms. A Business Administration major from UNC and a 30+ year Consumer Electronics industry veteran. He sold and then managed retail HiFi putting himself through college, and worked as a manufacturer’s representative and for multiple international companies including 15 years at Sony Electronics. Prior to founding @Home Theater Rooms he was Vice President for Acoustic Innovations, where he saw first-hand what the impact of a finished home theater interior could do for both consumer clients as well as for audio video dealers.
Gerald is our Vice President of Operations and provides the in-house backbone that keeps every project on track, updated and the business humming along. He brings more than 15 years of experience supervising and performing due diligence examinations in numerous industry sectors. Gerald analyzes and monitors our accounting practices, financial reporting, and internal controls. He is the key to us providing the best value in the industry and will also be in direct contact with our dealers for documents and deposits. Gerald received his dual undergraduate degree in accounting and health science and Policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Alan runs our manufacturing facility front office. He handles all the production scheduling, factory personnel, and oversees the purchasing of many of our raw materials. Any custom product or project ends up on his desk where it is priced fairly and competitively. Alan also interfaces with all of our raw material suppliers and manages our just in time, build to order production to ensure our clients the lowest possible cost and best quality product.

Jeff is the “McGyver” of the company. A master tool-maker, Jeff keeps all the customized tooling and machinery used in the production of our products in top condition. It is through his ingenuity that we are able to manufacture consistent, high-quality parts used in each of our theaters. Jeff runs the shop floor and pursues a learning theme with constant improvement for the entire team of master woodworking mechanics. He also interfaces directly on every project with Alan and Mark making a team that is greater than the sum of the independant parts.

Mark handles the majority of our AutoCAD and Rhino computer aided drawings. He is the one who takes the hand sketches we receive of a potential project and converts them into plan and elevation view drawings that can be used to determine what a particular theater might look like. Mark coordinates with our sales team for optimum theater design and planning for each individual room we work with. He also runs the CNC automated machinery streamlining the process and eliminating potential communication errors.

Scott is our 3D guru, taking 2-dimentional drawings and turning them into photo-realistic visions of what a home theater interior might look like. His background also includes a stint as a 3D animator for one of the well-know film companies here in the US.
